What exactly is a slicing service?

Slicing is a term used in the web design industry to describe the process of taking a graphic-based design and turning it into web markup. So basically we take a picture and "slice" it up to get the graphical elements we need, then we write the custom website code from scratch to turn the picture into a real live website!

Where are you based?

We are based in Australia mate, however our service is available to all countries that trade in money not peanuts.

What is your customer service response time?

We will respond to all queries as soon as possible, usually within 1 business day.

Who can use your slicing services?

Our slicing services are available to anyone who has need for it, this includes web designers, developers, agencies, bloggers, freelancers -basically anyone who needs their design turned into a living, breathing website.

Do you hand code each project?

We hand code all projects PERIOD. At no point do we use any software tools to automatically convert your designs into website code. Using automatic software produces terrible code which results in a terrible website. DiamondHTML pride themselves on their code quality.

What file formats do you accept?

You can supply your files in any of the major design formats such as .psd, .png, .ai, .jpeg, .gif, etc. If possible, we prefer to work with layered Photoshop® files.

How should I prepare my files to send to you?

You can read our How To Guide here to answer any questions about how to prepare your files.

What is the standard turnaround time?

By default the turnaround time is 5 days. This is also the cheapest option for you. By planning ahead and allowing this time for your project you can take advantage of our cheaper build rate. With that being said, we know how clients can spring projects on you at the last minute and demand results, and for that reason we also offer an expedited service.

The 2 day turnaround option lets you push in the development queue, and your work will be returned to you in 2 day's time. The 1 day option lets you jump the queue entirely. Your project is given top priority and you will receive it in 1 day's time.

What are your payment options?

DiamondHTML issues payment requests via the PayPal™ secure site service. Payments are to be made in advance by Mastercard, Visa or with your PayPal™ account. Australian business customers with a valid ABN may be able to apply for 7 day term accounts after an initial period, please contact us for more information.

Do you provide after sales support?

Yes, we provide support for up to 14 days after the project has been completed. Our support is strictly limited to any additional fixes that may be required to your project's code.

We DO NOT provide general I.T. support. We work hard to provide a quality service at a great cost, and if we spend all day answering general I.T. questions we would not get anything done - and that's not good for anyone.

Does the price include GST? (Australian Clients Only)

As DiamondHTML is an Australian based business registered for GST, all Australian clients will incur a 10% surcharge (GST) to comply with Australian Tax Law.

How do I get my website online?

When Diamond HTML has finished your order, you will be supplied with a set of files, Just use your favourite FTP client to upload these supplied files to your website server, and thats it your website will be online! If you're not sure what hosting is, or do not have hosting, simply select a hosting package along with your quote request and DiamondHTML will complete this on your behalf.

What is an FTP client?

An FTP client is a program used to connect and transfer files to your website host, we recommend using FileZilla - it's free and it's awesome.

Which CMS systems can you integrate my designs into?

Diamond Html currently supports the following CMS systems;

• CMS Made Simple
• Concrete 5

We are expanding our available CMS systems all the time, so if you need a CMS not listed here, just ask us via the ENQUIRY form.

What is a CMS? and why would I want one?

A "CMS" or Content Management System allows you to manage a websites content with little to no technical skill. If you would like to change your website's text and pictures regularly without the need of a web professional, a CMS system will allow you to do this. If you can write an email and attach a picture, you can use a CMS.

What is included in a CMS template from Diamond HTML?

When you order a CMS template from Diamond HTML we build it to work with a stock install of the Content Management System that you have chosen. If you require additional Extensions, Addons and/or Plugins to be styled, please specify this in the "NOTES" area of the quote process or simply ask us via the contact form.

Where can I learn to use my CMS system?

Each Content Management System that we template for will have extensive documentation on it's operation and features available at their respective websites, below we have provided links to each;

Diamond HTML provides Templates for standard installs of these systems only, and in no way offers support for learning, using, setup (unless hosting is requested during the quote process), or altering these systems. The responsibility for anything except the template creation remains with the client.

Do you offer website setup?

Yes, we offer free website setup but only when you purchase website hosting from Diamond HTML during the quote process. If you already have hosting elsewhere then we do not offer website setup.

Which browsers do Diamond HTML support?

As standard, we guarantee support for the following browsers: -

• Firefox 3+
• Safari 4+
• Chrome 4+
• Internet Explorer 7+
• Opera 10.5+

The reason we only guarantee our code to work with the above listed browsers is that there are a lot of different browsers out there. A majority of users use only the above browsers. Please see note below regarding Internet Explorer 6.

Do you support Internet Explorer 6?

As of 1st September 2010, we have dropped standard support for Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). If you (or your client) requests support for IE6, we can still implement this, however there will be additional cost.

For those who do not wish to pay additional cost for IE6 support, we recommend you send us a designed webpage, asking users of your site to upgrade their browser if viewing in IE6 and we will include a free script to this page in your site build. If you do not provide such a page, we will use a pre-designed unbranded template with a list and link to the updated browsers.
